It’s an erasure (a double erasure, if such a thing exists) — I took an existing article about the beginnings of the universe and erased two poems out of it, to create this one unified poem object thingy.
A priest

I’m delighted to announce that my story, “Herkimer Inquiries”, is released and out in the world! It’s in Reckoning’s tenth anniversary issue alongside some other fantastic stories about environmental justice.
It’s a tale of an oddball psychogeographic investigator who talks to birds at least as much as to humans.
People are always surprised how much shit they miss because they were too busy looking.
It’s a story about listening, about imagining, about community repair, about the small mysteries right in front of our eyes. It’s set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it’s about that, too.
It’ll be free to read online in July. In the meantime, you can pre-order a print copy of the issue.
